Hi Terri,

I just wanted to let you know that everything is going great. The hotel is not western at all but instead it is a local, typical Samarqand hotel. We have a very large living area, bedroom and two bathrooms. It is absolutely beautiful.

The people are wonderful here and Jimmy and I are so happy that we are staying here for weeks and not days. There is nothing scary about Samarqand, except maybe the way people drive!!!

Marie is absolutely Beautiful!!!! We met with the deputy Hakim today and he told Dallier that he will sign the paper work tomorrow and that he will approve the adoption. Jimmy and I are so happy. We are going to visit Marie again in an hour or so.

I just wanted to give you an update. Thanks for everything!! Dallier and Natayla are great people and have been just awesome with us.

Hi Terri,

I know you probably already know but I just wanted to let you know that the mayor signed the papers this morning and we were able to get Marie out of the orphanage this afternoon. I'm sorry it took me so long to e-mail you. It has been a whirlwind since this morning.

She is absolutely WONDERFUL!!! She had her first bath. What an adventure!!! We just tried feeding her but she wasn't going for it. She has us wrapped around her little finger. One of us is always standing up with her and walking around.

Thank you for everything!!!!! I can't believe it is final and she is ours. I have been crying all day. I hugged and hugged the people at the orphanage. Marie loves them so much and I know they love her.

I feel like you and I have been on a long journey but she is worth a bazillion long journeys!!!!
